If you or a loved one was ever effected by Depression...

Help Us Honor Nathan's Memory
~We had a brother whom we loved very much. He entered our life 13 years ago when he began dating our sister.

~We had a brother who was handsome, intelligent, an accomplished engineer and had a big heart. He was hilarious and everyone loved to be around him. We loved to be around him. He enjoyed everything- everything life had to offer.

~We had a brother who carried a lot on his young shoulders.

~We had a brother who kneeled at every alter he had ever been to and who set his phone alarm to pray in the middle of each day at the time of the prayer bell at his beloved Camp Sychar.

~We had a brother who stood up for others simply because that was the right thing to do.

~We had a brother who was always striving to be the best person he could be in God’s eyes.

~We had a brother welcomed us into his home open arms. Who put our crib together without being asked. Who ached for children of his own.

~We had a brother who secretly suffered from unbearable depression.

~We had a brother who believed so greatly in God and his own personal strength, he believed he could be “better” all by himself through his faith, personal effort and prayers. But, he couldn’t see he wasn’t going to be able to defeat this illness alone and fell victim to the stigma against mental illness.

~Yes. We had a brother. His name IS Nathan. WE LOVE HIM. Some might say he was our brother-in-law. But in our hearts he’ll always be our brother.

~We weren’t there for him as we could have been. We misunderstood the depth of his problems and heartache.

~The truth is we didn’t know. The problem is we didn’t know how much he was suffering. We didn't have a clue. Our brother, who gave everything he had to others, didn't let us see how much he hurt, how much HE needed. We pray he will forgive us. We are forever sorry. FOREVER.

As we approach Nathan’s birthday on October 27th, our family will be honoring his memory by walking in the October 25th, “Out of the Darkness Community Walk.” If you are able, we would like to ask you to either join us in the walk on Nathan's team, or support our team as we raise funds to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Any Contribution is tax deductible.

We are both walking to support AFSP. Please click here and scroll down to find our personal pages in memory of Nathan. We would love for you to join us on Nathan's team and walk for this important cause, or if you feel compelled, to make a tax deductible donation.
